If this is your first year joining us at Hughes Family Tree Farm, welcome! We are a small family farm sitting on 57 acres just outside Estacada, Oregon. We are about 2 miles from HWY 224.
When you arrive, you’ll find plenty of parking, just follow the parking signs. We do have special parking for trailers, look for the trailer parking signs.
Our staff are happy to show you where to find your perfect tree, or feel free to head out into the fields. There are signs in the fields to tell you about the different types of trees. We have handsaws and knee pads available out in the fields for your use. Please make sure that you place the saws back for the next customer. We do not allow gas powered chainsaws. If you need help cutting down your tree, we are happy to do that for you, just ask! Look for our staff in orange vests, they’ll be walking around ready to assist you.
Need to pick out a certain height of tree? We have sizing poles located out in our fields that will give you an estimation on how tall your tree will be. We have thousands of trees to choose from in all sizes. Please do not cut trees in half or cut out the tops of trees to make them shorter. Please note: your tree may be a few inches shorter depending on how close to the ground you cut the trunk, we size all trees and price them at our loading area.
Once you’ve picked out and cut your tree, you can have us transport your tree back to the parking area. Just go to one of the conveniently located pick-up points to catch a ride. You can also choose to carry your tree yourself. We’ll shake your tree (to make sure there aren’t any hitchhikers in it) and size your tree. Our staff will give you a ticket to pay for your tree in the payment area. While you’re paying our staff will bale the tree if you request it, or bring it out to the parking area for you.
Once you’ve paid, we’re happy to help you load your tree on your vehicle. We have free twine next to the loading area for your use.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you allow dogs?
Yes! Your furry friends are welcome on the farm, but must be leashed at all times. Please clean up after your animal.
Can I bring my chainsaw?
No gas powered saws are allowed due to liability and insurance. We provide bow saws and you are welcome to bring your own bow saw or small electric saw.
Can I take photographs?
Of course! Our farm is a beautiful backdrop for your photos and you are welcome to take them while you are picking out your Christmas tree. If you are a professional photographer wanting to use our location, please contact us, we are happy to host you on the farm outside of our u-cut hours.
How does your pricing work?
We price our trees by the foot, meaning that if you have a tree between 5 feet and 5 feet, 11 inches, we charge you for a 5 foot tree. Consider the extra inches a gift! We are generous in our sizing, if the top of the tree is extra long, we will not charge you for a larger tree based on that.
What forms of payment do you take?
We take cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as well as mobile wallets like Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Will you run out of trees?
Absolutely not! We have thousands of trees to choose from, from baby 2 foot trees to 10 foot trees.
